Although it may not be a life changing film like Super 8 or Coraline, Corpse Bride is an entertaining little film, well at least for people like me. Corpse Bride is about Victor a creative young man who loves the piano, who is forced to marry Victoria, a girl he has never met before. On the day of the wedding rehearsal, Victor just can't seem to get his vows right. Stressed and scared by the upcoming wedding, he takes a walk in the forest all the while practicing his vows. After saying them perfectly, Victor excitedly places his ring on what he thinks is an ordinary tree branch. Soon, Victor finds him self married to a corpse, Emily, who was killed on her wedding day, and from then on, transformed into a tree awaiting her "true love" to come save her. Now Victor has to find a way to both keep Emily happy and get to Victoria before she marries a rich new comer.
I would give this movie four stars out of five for it's amazing stop motion, intriguing characters, and interesting plot. The one thing I did no appreciate was the random musical numbers. The happy upbeat tunes and repetitive lines don't really match up with the gloomy mood of the film in general. But overall, I give movie two thumbs up!
